Dear Wyatt,
What a sweetheart you are. The other night when I crawled into bed to lay with you for a few minutes. You rolled over had a big beautiful smile on your face looked me right in the eye and said. "Mom, you're my best friend" and it melted my heart. I told everyone about this and how I thought it was the sweetest thing ever. Now however, when you're angry at me you tell me that "Mom you not my best friend", and then proceed to tell me that Dad's your best friend. Which I respond with, "Wyatt, honey, my job is not to be your best friend, it's to be your mom now go do _____" *hehe* so you're testing your boundries a little but it's part of you growing up. It's definately sometimes challenging for me as a momma but I wouldn't change a moment of it. You now enjoy watching Calliou, Max and Ruby, and Monster Trucks. You really love parks, and can do the slides all by yourself now. You've also started playing soccer this year. You really enjoy it. You listen very well to your coach, and I don't have to tell you to get back on the field like other moms do. I'm very proud of you. Your favorite things to do are play with stickers, build puzzles, visit uncle Jason's place. Also, you like to be out and about, which has always been the case, but now you can say "No Home Mom", when we are on our way home from being out.
Love and kisses,
Mom

To Wyatt
My Dear Son,
How special you are to me. Today we had our first snowfall. You were so excited to see the snow and couldn't wait to get out and play in it. When I finally had you all bundled up in your snowsuit you walked outside slowly listening to the snow crunch under your dinosaur rubber boots. Your face lit up. Then once off the deck you stepped around in the snow making trails. I think it's going to be a good winter you LOVED playing in the snow. We went for a walk down town and it ended up being pretty snowy and windy. Your nose started to get a little cold with the wind so you asked to sit with Haylee in the stroller. I really enjoyed the snow today and I think you did too as you didn't fall asleep at all in the stroller. All day you would go to the front window and say "no-o" and when it stopped snowing you said "done no-o, no-o done" - so cute.
Love you,
~Momma

Belly buttons
Hello,
This is one thing I've been thinking of, and always think of when changing diapers. Your belly buttons. Wyatt I remember yours distinctly after it healed it was swirly like a @ and made me smile because I love swirlies. Haylee your belly button looks like a -. It is so neat to me to see both of your differences. Maybe it's just mommas who notice these things but to me they are very special memories.

To Haylee
Well my girl, you are now 8 months and a week old. The last 8 months have flown by in the blink of an eye. You are already getting so big, I just want to keep you small just a little longer you are so precious. You have been sick with a fever the last few days so I've been a little exhausted, but I wanted to take a moment and tell you about a few special things about you as a baby before more time zips by and I forget or miss the opportunity.
When you were smaller and you were upset when you were going to sleep all I needed to do was stand beside your crib and hold your hand. It was so special that you just needed me close to comfort you. When you were a little older and I was trying to get you to sleep I'd lay you in your crib and tidy your room, or sit on the laptop and putter. It seemed that as long as you could see me close you were ok. I remember rocking your brother until he fell asleep then setting him down so gently so he wouldn't wake up. It makes me smile to think about how different you two are - so special each in your own ways.
Currently during the day you just happily play with whatever catches your eye, or follow your brother around and try to play with him. When you start to get fussy I place you in your crib and if you are actually tired you generally just go to sleep. If you're hungry or need a bum change you'll fuss, if you just don't want to sleep you'll stand up and bounce and babble "da da da da" it is very cute!
Love you
